The Delhi Government has announced plans to establish 26 Karmika Sewa Kendras (KSKs) across the national capital to streamline

registration and welfare access for nearly three million construction workers, particularly those in the unorganised sector.
Officials said the ₹25.41 crore project is modelled on the Passport Seva Kendra framework and aims to improve delivery of welfare schemes and employment services. The initiative will be implemented by the Delhi Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, which has begun the process of hiring an agency to design, develop and operate 13 static and 13 mobile KSK units. The rollout will be carried out in phases, prioritising high-need areas before expanding citywide. In addition, 39 labour chowks — three in each of Delhi’s 13 revenue districts — will be set up to provide workers with easier access to job opportunities and essential services such as sanitation, drinking water and first aid.According to officials, the KSKs will offer services including worker registration, labour card renewal and integration of records into state and national databases. These centres will function as AI-enabled digital hubs, allowing automated processing of applications and real-time tracking of benefits like medical assistance, welfare kits and direct benefit transfers.Mobile units are expected to extend services to remote areas, while self-service kiosks will be installed at static centres.
