Divya Delhi : Tamil Nadu has emerged as the leading southern state in the development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) labs and smart classrooms under the Centre’s Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), highlighting the state’s focus on integrating technology into school education. The initiative aims to strengthen digital learning infrastructure in government schools and provide students with better access to technology-enabled education. ICT laboratories and smart classrooms are designed to support interactive teaching, improve digital literacy and make learning more engaging for students. Tamil Nadu’s progress under the scheme places it ahead of other southern states in the expansion of these technology-based educational facilities. The development is expected to particularly benefit students in government schools by improving access to digital resources and modern teaching methods. The Centre’s SSA programme focuses on strengthening school education infrastructure and improving learning outcomes through initiatives that include digital education and technology-enabled classrooms.
