DIVYA DELHI : Veteran filmmaker KC Bokadia has sparked a discussion in the film industry by highlighting the growing financial burden of celebrity entourage expenses on film producers. While speaking about changing trends in Bollywood, Bokadia reportedly praised legendary actors Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, saying they never expected producers to bear the expenses of their personal staff. Bokadia expressed concern over the increasing demands of actors and their entourages, which reportedly include personal assistants, managers, makeup artists, stylists and other support staff. According to him, such additional expenses can significantly increase a film’s production budget and create financial pressure on producers. He also appealed to today’s actors to show consideration towards filmmakers and understand the financial challenges involved in making movies. Urging celebrities to be more mindful of their demands, Bokadia asked them to have mercy on producers and avoid placing unnecessary financial burdens on them. His remarks have once again brought attention to the debate surrounding Bollywood’s star culture, rising production costs and the financial responsibilities of actors and filmmakers.
