Sounding the Bugle Against Exploitation in Education: Krishna Social Welfare Trust Forms a New Team

The issue of arbitrary charges being levied by private schools—under the guise of fees, textbooks, and school uniforms—continues to intensify. Parents are expressing deep resentment over this matter and are voicing their outrage on a daily basis. In light of this, the Krishna Social Welfare Trust, organized a press conference at the ‘Imagine Tasty Restaurant’ in Najafgarh. The Trust’s President, Paramjit Singh Pamma, and Trustee, Rajesh Chauhan were present on this Press Conference. During the event, the Krishna Social Welfare Trust announced the formation of a new team for its ‘Education Wing.’ During the press conference, the Trust unveiled the members of this new team, which includes Dr. Indu Verma, Rajesh Kumar, Aman Kumar Bansal, Advocate Karamvir, and Santosh Yadav. Addressing the press conference, Paramjit Singh Pamma and Rajesh Chauhan stated that it is a deeply distressing situation that school managements continue to act arbitrarily, while the government and the administration remain completely silent. They alleged that schools are charging exorbitant prices—several times the actual cost—for textbooks and uniforms. Textbooks that are available in the open market for approximately ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 are being sold within the schools for prices ranging from ₹8,000 to ₹8,500. Furthermore, parents are being pressured to purchase these books exclusively from the school itself. Paramjit Singh Pamma and Rajesh Chauhan further added that this system is placing an increasing financial burden on families, compelling many parents to take out loans. They noted that a child studying in such an environment is also mentally affected—an impact that could potentially shape their mindset and their outlook toward society in the future. Describing this situation as the genesis of a corrupt system, they asserted that education must always remain accessible and affordable, ensuring that every child can pursue their studies without financial pressure and, in doing so, serve both the nation and society. On this occasion, the Krishna Social Welfare Trust also announced the launch of an “Education Bank.” Under this initiative, assistance will be provided to supply books and educational materials to needy children, ensuring that no child is deprived of education due to financial hardship.
