PM Modi Advocates Tech for Public Good as AI Impact Summit Continues

DIVYA DELHI : Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the use of science and technology for public interest as the AI Impact Summit 2026 entered its second day in New Delhi. In a post in Hindi, the Prime Minister said intelligence and rational decision-making make science and technology beneficial for the masses. He noted that the summit aims to explore how artificial intelligence can be harnessed for public good. His message also included a Sanskrit verse highlighting qualities such as attentive listening, reasoning, and decision-making as the foundation of intelligence. On Day 1, Modi inaugurated the expo and reiterated India’s commitment to responsible and inclusive AI. He interacted with startups, researchers and technology leaders showcasing AI applications across sectors. The summit features 13 country pavilions, including participation from Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, reflecting growing global collaboration in the AI ecosystem. More than 300 exhibition pavilions and live demonstrations are organised under three themes — People, Planet and Progress — with over 600 startups presenting population-scale AI solutions already deployed in real-world settings. The Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver the inaugural address outlining India’s vision for trusted and development-oriented artificial intelligence.
