DIVYA DELHI : Fresh details have emerged in the sensational murder case of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, with investigators claiming that accused Chetan Chaudhary deliberately remained offline for nearly 640 minutes on the day of the alleged crime in an attempt to evade police surveillance. However, the strategy reportedly backfired and became a crucial lead in the investigation. According to Pune Rural Police, Chetan allegedly left his personal mobile phone at his workplace and carried another employee’s phone while travelling to Lohagad Fort on June 18, the day Ketan Agarwal died after falling into a deep gorge. Investigators said Chetan’s phone remained disconnected from the internet from around 7 a.m. to 5:40 p.m., an unusual digital blackout that raised suspicion. Police inquiries further revealed that calls made to Chetan’s phone during the day were answered by employees at his shop rather than by him. Statements of the employees have since been recorded as part of the ongoing probe. Investigators have also uncovered extensive communication between co-accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary. Call Detail Records (CDRs) reportedly show that the duo exchanged more than 2,000 phone calls between January and June this year, spending nearly 238 hours in conversation. Police believe these records could help establish the alleged conspiracy behind Ketan’s death.
