IFEVA–GNIOT Sign MoU to Strengthen EV Education, Research and Industry Collaboration.

DIVYA DELHI : The International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (IFEVA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT), Greater Noida, to strengthen collaboration in electric mobility, emerging technologies, research, testing, innovation and skill development.The MoU was signed by Dr. Rajeev Mishra, President, IFEVA, and Dr. Dhiraj Gupta, Director, GNIOT, marking the beginning of a strategic industry–academia partnership aimed at creating greater opportunities for students, faculty, researchers and industry stakeholders in the rapidly developing electric vehicle (EV) sector. The collaboration was facilitated through the initiative of Dr. Deepak K. Singh, Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, GNIOT, whose efforts played an important role in bringing IFEVA and GNIOT together for the industry-oriented partnership. The partnership will focus on strengthening technical education and industry exposure in areas related to electric vehicles, batteries, charging infrastructure, EV testing, green mobility, sustainability and emerging technologies. Under the leadership of Dr. Rajeev Mishra, IFEVA has been working to bring together industry, academia, policymakers, technology developers, manufacturers and other stakeholders to support the development and adoption of electric mobility in India. Dr. Mishra has also been associated with the Bharat Maha EV Rally, IFEVA’s electric-mobility awareness initiative. According to IFEVA’s published material, the nationwide initiative covered approximately 21,000 kilometres across more than 150 cities over a 100-day journey, promoting awareness about electric mobility, charging infrastructure, sustainability and green energy. GNIOT is a technical education institution offering programmes in areas including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Information Technology and other disciplines. The MoU is expected to provide students and faculty with increased exposure to the EV and green-energy sectors through technical programmes, industry interaction, research initiatives and practical learning opportunities. The collaboration could also support the development of skilled professionals for India’s expanding electric-mobility ecosystem, with potential opportunities in entrepreneurship, manufacturing, research, innovation and employment. As part of its continued engagement with the electric-vehicle sector, IFEVA is scheduled to organise ‘Terminator 0.5’, a major EV and testing industry event on 24 October 2026 at Knowledge Park, Greater Noida. The event is expected to bring together EV manufacturers, testing and certification experts, technology companies, researchers, startups, academic institutions and other industry stakeholders. Discussions at the event are expected to focus on emerging EV technologies, testing and certification requirements, quality standards, innovation and the future of electric mobility. The proposed event is also expected to provide an additional platform for strengthening collaboration among industry, academia, technology developers and other stakeholders in Greater Noida’s growing technology and mobility ecosystem. IFEVA and GNIOT have expressed their appreciation to Dr. Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Chairman, GNIOT Group of Institutions, for his support and encouragement in strengthening industry–academia collaboration. The signing of the MoU marks a new phase of cooperation between IFEVA and GNIOT, with the partnership aimed at providing students and faculty with greater access to industry knowledge, practical exposure, research opportunities and emerging technologies. The collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of skilled talent and innovative solutions for India’s evolving electric-mobility sector while supporting broader objectives related to technological development, sustainable transportation and industry-ready education.
