‘Decisions Today Will Echo for 10 Years’: Tamim Iqbal Cautions Bangladesh Over T20 World Cup Standoff

Divya Delhi : Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal has urged the Bangladesh Cricket Board to act with caution amid uncertainty over the team’s participation in the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India. Warning against emotionally driven decisions, Tamim said choices made now could impact Bangladesh cricket for the next ten years. Bangladesh have expressed security concerns over travelling to India for the tournament, scheduled to begin on February 7, and have sought a venue change. Tamim emphasised that dialogue, long-term planning and the future standing of Bangladesh cricket must guide any final decision. His remarks come amid differing views within the BCB and strong public statements from government officials. Tamim concluded by stressing that the interests of Bangladesh cricket should remain the top priority.
