That’s four years. We are looking at about 18% growth annually to achieve this goal,” the minister said, underlining the urgency and commitment behind the target. He added that given the scale of opportunities available, bilateral trade could even surpass the $50 billion mark. Emphasising the “true potential” of the partnership, the minister noted that both nations are investing significant effort to strengthen economic cooperation. “The leadership of the two countries is fully committed. We now need to unlock the next phase of this partnership, and this visit will mark a defining start of a new chapter,” he said. Speaking at the same forum, Lee highlighted India’s growing global importance, noting that as the world’s fourth-largest economy with a population of 1.4 billion, it plays a crucial role in the global economic landscape. He said there is substantial scope to expand trade and business ties further. Ongoing negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement are expected to support this growth, paving the way for stronger economic engagement between the two countries.
