Tata EVs Get More Affordable As Company Rolls Out BaaS Pricing Across Key Models.

DIVYA DELHI : Tata Motors has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) pricing model across select electric vehicles, aiming to reduce the upfront cost of EV ownership. The new pricing structure covers models such as the Nexon EV, Sierra EV and Harrier EV, among others, giving customers an alternative way to pay for the battery component. Under the BaaS model, the vehicle and battery costs are separated, with customers paying a lower upfront price for the electric vehicle and a usage-linked battery fee based on kilometres driven. This approach is designed to make Tata’s electric cars more accessible to buyers who may be hesitant about the higher initial price of an EV. The move comes as Tata Motors continues to expand its electric vehicle portfolio and explore new ownership models in India’s growing EV market. The company already offers electric versions of several popular models, while newer products such as the Sierra EV and Harrier EV are expected to strengthen its presence in the segment. With BaaS pricing, Tata Motors is looking to provide customers with greater flexibility in managing the initial purchase cost and ongoing battery expenses.
