DIVYA DELHI : Delhi’s persistent shortage of affordable student accommodation has come under renewed scrutiny following the building collapse in Satya Niketan, raising concerns over the safety and regulation of hostels and paying guest (PG) facilities across the capital. Satya Niketan, a popular residential hub for students and young professionals, has witnessed rapid construction and a growing concentration of PG accommodations in recent years. With university and institutional hostels unable to meet demand, many students are forced to rely on privately operated properties, where questions over structural safety, overcrowding and compliance with building norms often remain.
