DIVYA DELHI : The Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) hosted its Investiture and Pipping Ceremony at its Sector-9, Dwarka headquarters, celebrating leadership, discipline, service and national spirit. The highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of the Honorary Colonel Rank upon DSEU Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok K. Nagawat by the NCC Directorate Delhi. The honorary rank was presented by Chief Guest Major General Ravinder Kumar, SM, VSM, ADG, NCC Directorate Delhi, in the presence of Brigadier P.S. Chhonkar, SM, VSM, Group Commander, Group-B NCC, and Colonel Karan Mehta, Commanding Officer, 2 Delhi Battalion, NCC. Prof. (Dr.) Abha Jain Nagawat, First Lady of the University, also graced the occasion. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Nagawat recalled his association with the NCC Naval Wing from 1972 to 1975 and highlighted the lasting impact of NCC values such as discipline, unity and service. He urged students to develop entrepreneurship, leadership, disaster-management and problem-solving skills, emphasizing the framework: “Need → Skill → Serve → Innovate.” Major General Ravinder Kumar, in his address, underscored the NCC motto “Service Before Self”, stressing that true leadership is defined by responsibility, commitment and the willingness to place larger societal interests above personal goals. The ceremony included the NCC song, group photographs and a tree plantation by the dignitaries, symbolizing growth, responsibility and commitment to a sustainable future. The event reaffirmed DSEU’s commitment to nurturing responsible professionals and citizens equipped to lead, serve, innovate and contribute to nation-building.
