Divya Delhi : India’s 5G user base is projected to double and reach around 100 crore users by 2030, Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said, highlighting the country’s rapid digital transformation and growing telecom capabilities. He added that India is preparing to play a leading role in the development and adoption of 6G technology globally. Speaking about the future of telecommunications, Scindia said India’s strong digital infrastructure, expanding telecom network, and innovation ecosystem would help the country compete in the global 6G race. He emphasised that next-generation connectivity will support sectors such as artificial intelligence, smart cities, healthcare, education, and industrial development. The government is focusing on strengthening domestic research, promoting technology innovation, and encouraging collaboration between industry and academia to achieve leadership in advanced communication technologies. The expansion of 5G services is expected to boost economic growth and create new opportunities across various sectors.
