Divya Delhi : The Central Government has appointed Rajasthan-cadre IAS officer Naresh Pal Gangwar as the new Higher Education Secretary at a time when the country is accelerating reforms in the examination and higher education systems. His appointment comes amid ongoing efforts to strengthen transparency, improve governance, and restore confidence in public examinations. Gangwar, a senior Indian Administrative Service officer from the Rajasthan cadre, will oversee key policy initiatives related to higher education, including implementation of reforms under the National Education Policy (NEP), enhancement of institutional standards, and examination-related improvements. The appointment assumes significance as the Ministry of Education continues to introduce measures aimed at ensuring fair, secure, and technology-driven examination processes following concerns over irregularities in recent competitive exams.
