Divya Delhi : The United States has launched a fresh round of military strikes on Iran, with the US Central Command (CENTCOM) stating that the operations targeted Iranian military capabilities in and around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategic maritime routes. According to CENTCOM, the strikes were aimed at degrading military assets that were considered a threat to regional security and the safety of international shipping. The operation comes amid escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran following a series of recent military confrontations and retaliatory actions. US officials said the strikes were carried out with precision to weaken Iran’s operational capabilities while minimizing collateral damage. Iran has not immediately released a detailed response, though the latest development is expected to further heighten geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital global oil transit corridor, and any military activity in the region has significant implications for international energy markets and regional stability.
