Delhi Signs MoU to Boost Media and Entertainment Industry

NEW DELHI, Mar 27: The Delhi government on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Prasar Bharati to develop the national capital into a major hub for the media and entertainment industry. The agreement was formalised between the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation and Prasar Bharati at Bharat Mandapam.The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the International Film Festival Delhi, according to an official statement. The initiative aims to strengthen Delhi’s position as a preferred destination for filmmakers, content creators, and media professionals.Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said the partnership will focus on promoting investment in the sector by leveraging the city’s rich talent pool, advanced technical expertise, and vibrant creative ecosystem. He added that the collaboration will help create new opportunities for artists, production houses, and digital media companies.Officials noted that the plan includes facilitating film production, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting Delhi as a shooting destination for both domestic and international projects. The move is also expected to generate employment and boost tourism by showcasing the capital’s cultural and historical landmarks.The agreement marks a significant step towards integrating media, tourism, and economic growth, positioning Delhi as a competitive player in the global entertainment industry landscape.
