DIVYA DELHI : Pakistan Army chief Asim Munir experienced a brief security check while attending the prestigious Munich Security Conference in Germany. A video circulating on social media shows a security officer asking Field Marshal Munir to display his identity badge clearly before entering the conference venue. The officer reportedly tapped on the name badge and requested that it be turned around to ensure visibility, in line with standard entry protocols. The brief interaction occurred just steps away from the conference entrance. Munir and his delegation were in Munich to participate in the annual global forum, which brings together world leaders, diplomats and security experts to discuss pressing international peace and security issues. Meanwhile, Germany-based Sindhi political organisation Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) staged protests outside the venue, opposing Munir’s participation. The group cited alleged human rights violations in Pakistan and submitted a formal statement to the United Nations, European Union and the German government expressing strong objections. The Munich Security Conference is widely regarded as a key platform for global dialogue and conflict resolution, drawing high-level representatives from across the world each year.
