DIVYA DELHI : Filmmaker Kamakhya Narayan Singh has strongly responded to criticism from Anurag Kashyap over his upcoming film The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond, posting a video statement defending its theme and intent. Singh accused Kashyap of being “mentally weak” and claimed the director has issues with multiple groups and institutions. In his message, Singh argued that the film raises questions about coercion and consent, saying dismissing such topics as hate-mongering is “intellectual dishonesty.” He also referenced Kashyap’s earlier film That Girl in Yellow Boots while criticizing his views. The controversy began after Kashyap called the movie a “propaganda film” that spreads division. The Kerala Story 2 is scheduled to release on February 27, 2026. The previous installment was directed by Sudipto Sen and reportedly earned over ₹300 crore at the box office.
