DIVYA DELHI : Donald Trump said he is directing federal agencies to begin “identifying and releasing” government files related to aliens, extraterrestrial life, UFOs and Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP). In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the documents should include “any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.” He did not clarify whether classified material would be made public. The announcement came after Trump criticised Barack Obama over viral podcast remarks referencing Area 51, claiming Obama had shared “classified information” — without specifying what was classified. Trump said he is unsure whether aliens are real. A 2024 Pentagon report found no evidence that reported UAP incidents were linked to extraterrestrial technology, attributing many sightings to balloons, aircraft and satellites.
