Smart Revision Strategies for CBSE Class XII Physics Board Examination 2026

The CBSE XII 2025-26 Board Examinations are yet to commence on 17 February 2026. It’s time to revise all the important chapters of every subject of class XII in the eleventh hour. All the candidates for the board examination of class XII are writing pre-boards as well as appearing in internal/external CBSE Board practical too. So, this time every student would definitely be in a little nervousness owing to their forthcoming CBSE Board Examinations. In this situation, there is a dire need to prepare a self-design revision plan for these board examinations to overcome the situation of bewilderment. As we are aware, the subject of physics generally makes everyone scared by reason of the improper planning or erroneous strategies while preparing this subject thoroughly throughout the academic year. Unlike other subjects, learning physics is somewhat different from others, as every topic of the physics subject needs to be comprehended in its three aspects: understanding of the topic, its conceptual-based problems and then finally, a couple of numerical problems based on that topic. Now, if any student is not prepared well, even then he/she can achieve excellent marks definitely in the board examination in the Class XII Physics subject through well-planned revision tactics as given below:

  1. CBSE Latest Physics Syllabus 2025-26: Students must have a copy of the Latest Physics CBSE Syllabus 2025-26. Also, mark important topics of the subject and prepare the three aspects stated
  2. Model Answer Technique: Emphasis has to be laid on model answers to the repeatedly asked previous years’ board examination questions in every chapter so as to reply correctly in a short time during the final board examination of Physics.
  3. Chapter-wise Distribution of Marks: Chapter-wise high/low marks distribution must be known to every student.
  4. Question Paper Design: The typology of questions for the CBSE examination in Physics has been divided into three parts.

Part A (Total marks 27) (Approx. 38%) – Questions based on recalling the facts, terms, and basic concepts; demonstrating the understanding of facts; interpreting; giving descriptions; etc.

Part B (Total marks 22) (Approx. 32%) – Application-based questions on the concept learnt.

Part C (Total marks 21) (Approx. 30%) – ACE-based questions would be asked, i.e., A stands for ‘analyse’ – drive inference; C stands for Creativity – compiling the information through new or alternative solutions; And finally, E stands for Evaluation – making judgement from the given information.

  1. Making Short Revision Notes: Now, it would be very difficult to make the short revision notes of all topics of every chapter of the Physics syllabus for the examination 2026. So, this would be a vital step by every student to make short/crispy revision notes of all important topics of chapters (Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism, Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents, Electromagnetic Waves, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Atom and Nuclei, Optics and Electronic Devices) followed by rigorous practice.
  2. Preparation by NCERT Only: The student should not forget to practise all the solved numerical problems given in the NCERT Book of Physics. They should also prepare all important questions in the exercise of each chapter from NCERT.
  3. Practice for the diagram of important topics: It has been found that most of the students make common mistakes in scratching the diagrams asked in question papers owing to lack of practice. The few topics of physics involving diagrams are Wheatstone Bridge, Moving Coil Galvanometer, AC Generator, Transformer, Rectifier, Binding Energy Curve, etc. The students must practise all the diagrams of a few important physics topics with labels as stated above.
  4. Importance of Practical Experiments: Practicals of Physics can’t be neglected so far. They make the students comprehend the theoretical concept of physics meaningfully. Topics, i.e., the example of the Wheatstone Bridge Experiment, Ohm’s law, etc., are both theoretical and practical in the physics curriculum of class XII, carrying questions of how/what/why/if that can be properly understood through practical done in the physics laboratory. So, the students must also prepare the physics practical for the practical examination in the true sense and spirit.
  5. List of special highlighting topics: There are a few important suggestive topics for the preparation of physics, such as Gauss’s theorem and its applications, torque on a dipole in a uniform electric field, electric potential due to a dipole, capacitance of a parallel plate capacitor with and without dielectric medium, energy stored in a capacitor, drift velocity, mobility, temperature dependence of resistance, Kirchhoff’s rules, Wheatstone bridge, Biot-Savart law and its application, Ampere’s law and its applications, moving coil galvanometer, Magnetic properties of materials – para-, dia- and ferro-magnetic substances, Lenz’s Law, self and mutual induction, LCR series circuit, power in AC circuits, power factor, wattless current, AC generator, Transformer, displacement current, Electromagnetic spectrum, total internal reflection, mirror formula, lens maker’s formula, Microscopes and astronomical telescopes, Proof of laws of reflection and refraction using Huygen’s Principle, Young’s double-slit experiment, diffraction due to a single slit, Einstein’s photoelectric equation, de Broglie relation, Bohr model of the hydrogen atom – radius, velocity and energy of electron in nth orbit, hydrogen line spectra, mass defect, binding energy per nucleon and its variation with mass number; Semiconductor diode – I-V characteristics, diode as a rectifier, etc.
  6. Success Mantra: A wisely designed revision plan forever ensures SUCCESS with flying colours in every examination. So, never forget this MANTRA in the revision of physics too. Regular revision with a planned revision strategy, including daily and weekly basis using mind mapping/making slip notes, etc., definitely builds confidence in every student to tackle any question in the examination of the physics subject of class XII.
  7. A few suggestions before summing up:
    • Always take a couple of short breaks during preparation of the physics subject for long reading
    • Avoid late-night study because proper sleep shall make you fit and fine for the next day’s preparation of the subject with a fresh mind-set.
    • Not to follow last-minute mugging up of all the new topics of physics, which further results in an increase in the chances of forgetfulness of already prepared topics for the CBSE examination of
    • Never strive to learn the entire syllabus of this subject before its The student may get a low score due to an increase in a sense of demotivation in itself.
    • Avoid junk stuff during the preparation for the examination as well as before the physics exam in order to keep your body and brain healthy.
    • Always make a proper organised study plan for your CBSE Physics examination, and you must follow your study routine, enabling you to score the best marks in the Physics examination.
    • Never invest your precious time in social media in your daily routine to avoid
    • Also include the time of any sport/game of your interest in the strategy of your
    • Depending on the general routine / need, the student may follow his tactics of learning / revision so as to enable him to learn his best. Mainly, the target is to fetch the best result in the form of more scoring in the CBSE examination of the physics subject.

Finally, after great discussion on scoring excellent marks through last-minute planning before the CBSE examination of Physics, if all the students follow the abovementioned suggestions in their daily routine before appearing in the CBSE examination of Physics, equipping themselves through a rigorously planned chapter-wise important topics revision along with follow-up so as to make themselves able to tackle any annoying situation of the examination of Physics like a brave soldier who prepares himself, striving hard to taste victory ALWAYS in any wicked situation of battle, followed by a strict daily training schedule. In short, the power of full confidence of preparation of the physics subject before the day of the CBSE examination would definitely open up the way to scoring GREAT MARKS ACHIEVEMENT in the CBSE examination of physics.
