Sensex Surges 600 Points, Nifty Climbs Above 24,350 as Easing Fed Rate Hike Expectations Boost Markets

Divya Delhi : Mumbai: Indian equity markets witnessed a strong rally as the BSE Sensex surged nearly 600 points and the NSE Nifty crossed the 24,350 mark, driven by easing expectations of further interest rate hikes by the U.S. Federal Reserve and positive global market sentiment. The benchmark stock indices posted significant gains, with the Sensex rising around 600 points while the Nifty traded above the 24,350 level. Investors across domestic and global markets participated in the rally, with buying seen in key sectors including banking, financial services, information technology and auto stocks.  The markets advanced during the latest trading session. The rally was recorded on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in India. The primary factors behind the market’s rise were growing expectations that the U.S. Federal Reserve may slow or pause further interest rate hikes, easing inflation concerns, improved global cues and sustained foreign investor interest in Indian equities. Positive global sentiment encouraged investors to increase buying across heavyweight stocks, lifting benchmark indices higher and pushing the Nifty above the 24,350 mark while the Sensex gained approximately 600 points during the session.
