Divya Delhi : Delhi’s Rohini Jail has once again come into the spotlight for its reform-oriented initiatives. Under the visionary leadership of Jail Superintendent Gaurav Saini, a grand cultural and musical program was organized with the objective of promoting the mental, social, and moral upliftment of inmates. The program was conducted peacefully in strict adherence to all jail rules and discipline. On this occasion, Prakash Kumar, Director of Kiran Devi Foundation; Sultana, National Secretary of DKSD Kapoor Ladli Foundation; and Rajesh Chauhan, Director Of Daily Newspaper And Channels were present along with their teams. With the support of social organizations and the media, the program became even more impactful. Jail Superintendent Gaurav Saini stated that continuous efforts are being made in Rohini Jail for the holistic development of inmates. A gurudwara and a temple have been established within the jail premises to help prisoners move toward spiritual peace. In addition, facilities for education, computer training, moral education, and skill development are being provided so that inmates can lead a respectable life in the mainstream of society after completing their sentences. Former ACP Virendra Punj, who was present at the program, said that providing legal education along with skill development opportunities to children and inmates can significantly reduce crime recurrence (recidivism). He described this as a far-sighted step for both society and the government. The cultural evening was enlivened by impressive performances from Haryanvi singers Veer Dahiya, Ashu Punjabi, Nand Kishore, and Dr. Happiness Gulati, which captivated the audience. The music and dance helped inmates momentarily escape the stressful environment, filling them with joy and self-confidence. The Chief guest of the program was Rajinder Kapoor (President’s Medal awardee and Senior Chief Warden, Civil Defence South East). He was joined by several other distinguished Guests, including Dinesh, Neelam Saini, Dr. K. B. Sharma, Montu, Sonika Nagar (Delhi Police), Mayank, Virendra Sehrawat, Suraj, Honey Editor of the national daily newspaper Pratham Agenda and Raminder.
