Rajasthan Becomes First State to Issue Rare Earth Elements Exploration Licence Under CM Bhajan Lal Sharma

Divya Delhi : Rajasthan has become the first state in India to execute an exploration licence for rare earth elements (REEs) under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. The initiative marks a significant step in strengthening India’s critical mineral sector and reducing dependence on imports for strategic resources used in advanced technologies, renewable energy, and defence. The exploration licence will facilitate the scientific assessment and identification of rare earth mineral deposits in the state. The Rajasthan government said the move aligns with the Centre’s vision of achieving self-reliance in critical minerals while promoting investment in the mining sector and supporting sustainable economic development. Officials stated that the licence is expected to accelerate mineral exploration, create employment opportunities, and attract private sector participation. The development is also seen as a milestone in India’s efforts to secure a stable supply of critical minerals for future industrial and technological growth.
