Rail Passengers Alert: Cancelling Vande Bharat Sleeper Tickets May Be Expensive

DIVYA DELHI : Cancelling confirmed tickets on newly launched Vande Bharat Sleeper trains will now be more expensive, as per new norms issued by the Railways. A 25% deduction will apply on cancellation after booking, while a 50% charge will be levied if tickets are cancelled between 72 and 8 hours before departure. There will be no refund for cancellations made within eight hours of departure. The stricter rules have been introduced as reservation charts will now be prepared eight hours before departure. Unlike other trains, Vande Bharat Sleeper services will issue only confirmed tickets, with no RAC facility. The Railways said the new norms differ significantly from existing cancellation rules for other trains.
