DIVYA DELHI : New Delhi Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the BJP’s recent win in the Thiruvananthapuram Municipal Corporation marks the beginning of a larger political shift in Kerala, drawing a parallel with the party’s early rise in Gujarat. Addressing a BJP rally at Putharikandam Maidan, Modi said the party’s growth in Kerala would mirror Gujarat’s trajectory, where it first gained control of a single city before expanding statewide. He termed the civic poll result a “mandate for change” and accused the LDF and UDF of years of misgovernance and neglect of the capital. The Prime Minister said Thiruvananthapuram would be developed as a model city with full support from the Centre. Ahead of Assembly elections, he projected the BJP-NDA as a “third alternative” focused on development and good governance. Modi also promised action in the Sabarimala gold theft case if the BJP forms the government, calling it “Modi’s guarantee.” During the visit, Modi inaugurated multiple development projects, flagged off new train services, laid foundation stones for key infrastructure initiatives, and launched welfare measures including the PM SVANidhi Credit Card, underscoring the Centre’s push for Kerala’s development.
