DIVYA DELHI : The NASA has made history as its Perseverance Mars rover successfully completed the first artificial intelligence-planned autonomous drives on another planet. The test, led by Jet Propulsion Laboratory, used advanced generative AI to chart safe routes across the Martian surface without human drivers. The rover covered over 450 meters across two days using AI-generated waypoints. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman said the breakthrough highlights how autonomous technology will shape future planetary exploration, especially where communication delays make real-time control impossible.
