22-year-old commuter, identified as Mayank Lohar, was allegedly stabbed to death inside a moving Churchgate–Nalasopara fast local train following an argument over closing the coach door during heavy rainfall. The incident occurred between Andheri and Borivali stations late Tuesday night. According to the Government Railway Police (GRP), a heated exchange broke out between Lohar and another passenger regarding whether the train door should remain open or be shut due to the rain. The argument reportedly escalated, and the accused allegedly attacked Lohar with a sharp weapon, inflicting a fatal injury to his abdomen. After the train reached Borivali station, the accused reportedly jumped from the moving train and fled the scene. Railway Police and Railway Protection Force personnel rushed the injured passenger to hospital, where doctors later declared him dead. The GRP has registered a murder case and launched a manhunt for the accused. Investigators are examining CCTV footage and questioning witnesses to trace the suspect and determine the exact sequence of events.
