Paschim Vihar East Police Crack Mobile Snatching Case Within 24 Hours, One Arrested

Divya Delhi : A mobile snatching incident was reported in the Paschim Vihar East area on 24 July 2026, when a person returning to his room after completing his duty was allegedly targeted by two unidentified persons riding a scooty. The accused reportedly snatched his mobile phone near Ganda Nala, Raghubir Nagar, and fled from the spot. Following the complaint, FIR No. 218/26 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at PS Paschim Vihar East, and an investigation was initiated. A special police team led by Inspector Anil Yadav, SHO Paschim Vihar East, under the supervision of ACP Paschim Vihar Rajbir Lamba, was constituted to investigate the case. The team comprising SI Rohit, HC Kuldeep and Ct. Ankit analysed CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and gathered local intelligence. Based on specific information, police conducted a raid near Ganda Nala, Raghubir Nagar, where they intercepted a person riding a scooty. The accused attempted to escape but was apprehended by the alert police team. The accused was identified as Karan (18), a resident of Raghubir Nagar, Delhi. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to his involvement in the snatching incident. Police recovered the snatched mobile phone from his possession and seized the scooty used in the crime. Police said further efforts are underway to trace and arrest the remaining accused involved in the case.
