Noida | Tech Professional Drowns Two Hours After Car Falls Into Drain

DIVYA DELHI :  A 27-year-old tech professional drowned after his car fell into a nearly 70-foot-deep drain in Noida’s Sector 150 early Saturday, triggering allegations of delayed rescue. The victim, Yuvraj Mehta, reportedly survived for nearly two hours after the accident and kept calling for help while standing on his partially submerged car. Family members and friends alleged that despite police reaching the spot, no immediate rescue was carried out due to poor visibility and lack of swimmers. Rescue teams arrived later, and the victim was eventually found dead. Police said fire services, SDRF, and NDRF were informed, but visibility and fog hampered operations. The victim’s family has blamed the Noida Authority for poor safety measures near the drain. No FIR has been registered so far, and officials said the matter will be reported to the authority for further action.
