Divya Delhi:
The release of *Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand* starring Kartik Aaryan has been postponed, with makers shifting the film from its earlier Independence Day 2026 slot to 2027. The creature comedy, inspired by Indian folklore, will now arrive in theatres on February 12, 2027, coinciding with the Valentine’s Day weekend. Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film was initially slated for an August 14, 2026 release and was expected to be followed by a digital premiere on Prime Video. It had also been part of the platform’s announced slate earlier this year, building anticipation among audiences. Produced by Karan Johar along with Mahaveer Jain and others under Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films, the project features Kartik Aaryan in the role of an icchadhari naag named Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand. Promotional material, including a motion poster released earlier, hinted at a humorous and fantasy-driven narrative. The postponement comes amid Kartik’s recent box office setback with *Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri*, which underperformed commercially. The actor, however, continues to have a packed lineup, including upcoming collaborations with filmmakers Anurag Basu and Kabir Khan. Despite the delay, *Naagzilla* remains one of the more anticipated fantasy comedies in the coming years.
