DIVYA DELHI : India U-19 pacer Henil Patel delivered a sensational performance on his World Cup debut, claiming a five-wicket haul against the USA in the ICC Under-19 World Cup opener on Thursday. Bowling first under overcast conditions, Henil finished with outstanding figures of 5 for 16 from seven overs, including a maiden, as India bundled out USA for just 107 in 35.2 overs. The right-arm seamer struck in his very first over and went on to rip through the USA middle order, removing captain Utkarsh Srivastava and wicketkeeper Arjun Mahesh in a devastating spell. USA never recovered from the collapse despite brief resistance from Nitish Sudini, who scored 36. Born in Valsad, Gujarat, Henil Patel has already made a strong mark in youth cricket, having taken 28 wickets across Youth Tests and ODIs, and was also part of India’s U-19 Asia Cup squad last month.
