Divya Delhi : The Central Government has announced that contracts for 10,389 kilometres of National High-Speed Corridors (NHSCs) have been awarded across the country as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s road infrastructure and improve connectivity. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the awarded corridors form a key component of the Bharatmala Pariyojana and are aimed at reducing travel time, easing traffic congestion, and boosting the efficient movement of goods and passengers. The projects are expected to enhance connectivity between major economic hubs, industrial centres, ports, and border regions. The government said the development of high-speed corridors will improve logistics efficiency, support economic growth, generate employment, and facilitate faster and safer transportation. Construction work is progressing in phases, with several stretches already under implementation. Officials added that the expansion of the National High-Speed Corridor network reflects the Centre’s commitment to building world-class transport infrastructure and strengthening India’s highway network.
