Fresh Cases Reported as 22 Fall Ill Due to Contaminated Water in Indore

DIVYA DELHI : At least 22 people fell ill after consuming contaminated drinking water in Indore’s Mhow area, weeks after a major water-borne disease outbreak that claimed several lives. Nine of the affected residents have been hospitalised, while others are being treated at home under medical supervision. Authorities fear the number may rise beyond 25 as more cases emerge from nearby areas. The district administration has deployed health teams, launched a door-to-door survey, and is closely monitoring the situation. Earlier this month, contaminated water containing E. coli bacteria was detected in dozens of tube wells, leading to multiple deaths. The matter is currently under consideration of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, with a high-level probe underway.
