Divya Delhi : In a major crackdown on organised crime, the Rohini District Police have arrested three alleged shooters associated with the notorious Harry Boxer gang and foiled a conspiracy involving extortion and planned targeted killings of businessmen across Delhi-NCR. The operation was carried out jointly by the Special Staff and North Rohini Police after a businessman lodged a complaint alleging that he had been receiving extortion calls and WhatsApp messages from foreign numbers demanding ₹1 crore. The callers, claiming to be members of the Harry Boxer gang, threatened to kill him and his family if the demand was not met. During the investigation, police discovered that the gang had already conducted surveillance of the complainant’s residence and had also identified several other businessmen and jewellery establishments as potential targets. CCTV footage, technical surveillance, digital forensic analysis and human intelligence helped investigators trace the accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Shiv Govind (19) of Tughlakabad, Abhinav alias Akash Singh (23) and Vivek (22), both residents of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh. Police said Abhinav was previously involved in the 2024 murder case of a gym owner in Greater Kailash and allegedly reconnected with the Harry Boxer gang after being released from jail. According to investigators, the gang members had travelled to Delhi, stayed at different hotels to avoid detection and were waiting for final instructions before executing the planned attacks. During the operation, police recovered three sophisticated illegal pistols, including a 9 mm pistol and a Beretta pistol, 26 live cartridges, a Hero Deluxe motorcycle, mobile phones and digital evidence related to the conspiracy. Police believe the gang used encrypted messaging applications and foreign-based handlers to coordinate extortion and targeted killings. Further investigation is underway to identify other gang members, financiers, weapon suppliers and overseas conspirators linked to the syndicate.
