DIVYA DELHI : A Dalit woman was brutally killed in Meerut’s Kapsad village while trying to protect her daughter from alleged abductors. The 50-year-old woman was attacked with a sharp weapon when she intervened, and later succumbed to her injuries in hospital. The accused fled with the daughter, who remains missing. Police have identified the suspects as Paras Som and Sunil Kumar, both residents of the same village. An FIR has been registered under BNS sections for murder and abduction, along with provisions of the SC/ST Act. Multiple police teams have been deployed across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Delhi to trace the accused and recover the girl. The incident has triggered political outrage, with leaders across parties demanding strict action. Heavy police deployment remains in the village, while the administration has announced ₹10 lakh compensation from the Chief Minister’s relief fund and assured full protection to the family.
