Divya Delhi : The team of Paschim Vihar East Police Station has successfully solved a mobile snatching case with the arrest of two alleged snatchers. The accused were identified as habitual offenders and a stolen motorcycle along with the scooty used in the crime were recovered. According to police officials, the incident took place on June 25, 2026, when a woman was returning to her dance classes after getting down from the metro station. Near Shiva Enclave, Paschim Vihar, two persons riding a scooty allegedly approached her and snatched her mobile phone before fleeing from the spot. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at Paschim Vihar East Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and an investigation was initiated. A dedicated police team led by Inspector Anil Yadav, SHO Paschim Vihar East, under the supervision of ACP Rajbir Lamba, began the investigation. The team examined CCTV footage from the surrounding areas and traced the scooty used in the offence through its registration number. During patrolling, police officials spotted the same scooty in the area with two persons riding it. When the suspects attempted to escape after noticing the police team, they were intercepted and apprehended. The accused were identified as Shivam alias Sibbu (22), a resident of Uttam Nagar, and Abhishek alias Mota (22), a resident of Karala, Delhi. During interrogation, both allegedly confessed to their involvement in the snatching case. Police also recovered a stolen motorcycle linked to another e-FIR registered at Paschim Vihar East Police Station. Further investigation revealed that Abhishek has been involved in more than 20 criminal cases, while Shivam has around five previous cases against him.
