The much-anticipated horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, directed by Priyadarshan and starring Akshay Kumar, has kicked off its box office journey on a promising note with solid earnings from paid preview shows.According to early estimates, the film collected approximately ₹3.5 to ₹3.75 crore net across India from its preview screenings, surpassing initial projections of ₹2.5 to ₹3 crore. Trade analysts attribute the better-than-expected performance to strong pre-release buzz and positive early reactions from audiences and critics.Industry observers note that these figures are particularly encouraging for a non-holiday release, especially within the horror-comedy genre. The film recorded a strong response in major urban centres, supported by healthy advance bookings, spot ticket sales, and block bookings.Based on current trends, Bhooth Bangla is now expected to register an opening day collection exceeding ₹15 crore net. Prior to the previews, estimates had suggested an opening closer to ₹12.5 crore, comparable to recent mid-range performers. The film features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, and Rajesh Sharma in key roles. With limited competition and positive word of mouth, trade experts believe the film’s box office performance could further improve over the weekend.
