Divya Delhi : Australia Women clinched a record-extending seventh ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title after defeating England Women by seven wickets in the final at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday. Chasing a target of 151, Australia produced a commanding batting display to reach 153/3 in 17.1 overs and complete an unbeaten campaign in the tournament. Beth Mooney starred with an unbeaten 64 off 49 balls, anchoring Australia’s chase with her trademark composure. She shared a match-defining 100-run partnership for the second wicket with Phoebe Litchfield, who contributed a fluent 48, putting Australia firmly in control of the contest. Mooney was named Player of the Match and also finished as the tournament’s Player of the Tournament. Earlier, England posted 150/4 from their 20 overs after electing to bat. Nat Sciver-Brunt top-scored with an unbeaten half-century, while Freya Kemp provided valuable late support. However, Australia’s disciplined bowling attack ensured England never gained complete momentum. The victory marks Australia’s seventh Women’s T20 World Cup crown, further cementing their dominance in women’s cricket and extending their remarkable success on the global stage.
