Divya Delhi : At least 11 people were killed and several others injured after Russia launched a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes on Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, on Monday. The attack marked the second major assault on the city within a week, intensifying the ongoing conflict. According to Ukrainian authorities, the strikes caused significant damage to residential buildings and critical infrastructure, while emergency services rushed to rescue survivors and extinguish fires. Rescue operations continued in several affected areas as officials assessed the extent of the destruction. Air raid sirens sounded across Kyiv as Ukrainian air defence systems attempted to intercept the incoming missiles and drones. Despite interception efforts, several projectiles struck populated areas, resulting in civilian casualties and widespread property damage. The latest attack comes amid continued escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war, with repeated strikes on major cities raising humanitarian concerns and prompting renewed calls from the international community for an end to the hostilities.
