Divya Delhi : Ahmedabad, July 16: Union Home Minister Amit Shah performed the Mangala Aarti at the historic Jagannath Temple in Ahmedabad ahead of the commencement of the 149th Rath Yatra, one of Gujarat’s largest and most significant religious processions. The ceremony marked the beginning of the annual celebrations, with thousands of devotees gathering at the temple to seek the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Goddess Subhadra. Following the ritual, security agencies and local authorities reviewed arrangements for the Rath Yatra, which passes through several parts of Ahmedabad under extensive security cover. The Gujarat government has deployed a large number of police personnel, surveillance systems, and emergency response teams to ensure the peaceful conduct of the procession. The annual Rath Yatra is celebrated with great devotion and attracts lakhs of devotees from across the state, making it one of the country’s prominent religious events.
