Divya Delhi : Uttar Pradesh is in the grip of a severe cold wave, prompting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to issue strict safety instructions across the state. In view of the extreme weather conditions, the state government has ordered the closure of all schools up to Class 12, including those affiliated with CBSE, ICSE, UP Board, and other boards, to protect students’ health. Dense fog and icy winds have disrupted daily life in many districts, especially during morning and evening hours. CM Yogi has directed district administrations and senior officials to remain on the ground and closely monitor the situation, warning that no negligence in public safety will be tolerated . The Chief Minister has also ordered arrangements for blanket distribution and bonfires in all districts, with special attention to the poor, homeless, elderly, and daily wage workers. He instructed that no one should be forced to sleep in the open during the cold wave and ensured that night shelters (rain baseras) remain fully functional with warm bedding, drinking water, lighting, and sanitation facilities.
