Divya Delhi : An All India Students’ Association (AISA) protest in Patna, Bihar, turned violent after demonstrators clashed with police during a march over their demands. To disperse the crowd and restore order, police resorted to tear gas shells and water cannons, leading to tense scenes in parts of the city. According to officials, the protesters attempted to breach police barricades while marching toward a designated location. As the situation escalated, security personnel used crowd-control measures, including tear gas and water cannons, to prevent further unrest. Several protesters and police personnel reportedly sustained minor injuries during the confrontation. Heavy police deployment was made in the area, and additional security forces were called in to maintain law and order. Authorities appealed to protesters to remain peaceful, while AISA members accused the police of using excessive force. Police have said the situation is now under control and that an investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events. The administration is also reviewing video footage and eyewitness accounts to assess the incident.
