DIVYA DELHI : Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has rejected claims that he softened his remarks from his World Economic Forum speech in Davos during a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump. Trump’s administration had suggested Carney “aggressively walked back” his criticism of unconstrained superpowers in the call, but Carney told reporters he told Trump “I meant what I said in Davos.” He reaffirmed his original stance amid ongoing trade tensions, including threats of tariffs from the U.S. and discussions about diversifying Canada’s trade relationships, while emphasizing Canada’s commitment to the upcoming US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement review.
