Delhi Air Quality Dips Into ‘Very Poor’ Category as Winter Pollution Curbs Begin.

DIVYA DELHI : Delhi’s air quality has deteriorated into the ‘Very Poor’ category as winter pollution begins to intensify across the national capital. The worsening air quality has once again raised concerns among residents, particularly children, senior citizens and people with respiratory sensitivities. With the onset of cooler weather, stagnant winds and reduced atmospheric dispersion can allow pollutants to accumulate closer to the ground, resulting in a noticeable decline in air quality. Authorities have begun implementing seasonal pollution-control measures aimed at reducing emissions and limiting activities that contribute to deteriorating air conditions. The situation has also brought renewed attention to major pollution sources, including vehicular emissions, construction and road dust, industrial activities and open burning.  Residents in several parts of the city have reported hazy conditions, while visibility may also be affected during the early morning hours. Officials are closely monitoring the Air Quality Index (AQI) and have urged citizens to follow pollution-control guidelines. People have also been advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure during periods of poor air quality.

As winter progresses, Delhi is expected to remain under close watch, with authorities preparing to intensify measures if pollution levels rise further.
