FSSAI Serves Notices to 2 Five-Star Delhi Hotels Selected for BRICS Summit Guests Over Food Safety Violations.

DIVYA DELHI : The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued notices to two five-star Delhi hotels, JW Marriott and Andaz Hotels, which were selected to accommodate guests attending the BRICS Summit, following inspections that reportedly flagged food safety and hygiene concerns. During the inspections, officials allegedly found issues including cockroach infestation and rotten food at the properties. The findings have raised concerns over hygiene and food-handling practices at hotels expected to host high-profile international delegates during the summit. The notices seek explanations from the hotel managements over the alleged violations and direct them to take corrective measures to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Authorities may conduct follow-up inspections to verify whether the reported deficiencies have been addressed. The development comes as Delhi steps up preparations for the BRICS Summit and works to ensure high standards of hospitality for visiting delegates. Hotels selected to accommodate international guests are expected to maintain stringent food safety, sanitation and hygiene standards. Further action against the hotels will depend on their responses to the notices and the findings of subsequent inspections by food safety officials.
