DIVYA DELHI : Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s upcoming and final film ‘Jana Nayagan’ has hit legal roadblocks, delaying its planned January 9 release. The film stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the makers have hired seven senior Supreme Court lawyers and are planning to file an urgent petition against the Madras High Court bench’s stay order, ahead of the January 21 hearing. Earlier, the High Court strongly backed the film, calling the complaint “dangerous”, and ruled that once a UA certificate is granted, the censor chairperson’s role ends. The court had ordered the certificate to be issued without delay. However, the Censor Board chairperson has appealed against that order. The case is now before the Chief Justice’s bench, and a final decision is awaited
