Divya Delhi : Sabarimala temple is facing another controversy, this time over alleged irregularities in the supply of ghee, months after the shrine came under scrutiny over alleged gold-related irregularities. The latest issue concerns allegations that ghee supplied by Milma for use at Sabarimala was allegedly diverted and replaced with lower-quality ghee sourced from Tamil Nadu. Milma has constituted a committee to investigate the allegations, while a separate vigilance inquiry has also been reported. The controversy has raised questions about the management and monitoring of ghee supplies to the prominent pilgrimage centre. Under the agreement between the Travancore Devaswom Board and Milma, a substantial quantity of ghee was to be supplied for Sabarimala and Pamba. The Kerala government has also ordered a departmental investigation into alleged irregularities involving Milma, including the supply of ghee to Sabarimala. Dairy Development Minister Bindu Krishna said a broader inquiry was necessary to determine the extent of the alleged wrongdoing. The development has added to concerns surrounding the administration of the famous temple. Authorities are expected to examine supply records, transportation details and other documents to establish whether any malpractice occurred. The investigation will determine the facts behind the allegations and identify responsibility, if any, for irregularities in the ghee supply chain.
