Writing on social media, Pietersen said Flower now understands the modern player and still “gets Test cricket,” despite their well-known fallout during the 2013–14 Ashes. Pietersen admitted the idea was bold but pointed to Flower’s success on the global T20 circuit as evidence of his evolution.
