DIVYA DELHI : Following England’s 4–1 Ashes defeat in Australia, former England batter Kevin Pietersen has floated a “wild” suggestion—calling for ex-head coach Andy Flower to return. Writing on social media, Pietersen said Flower now understands the modern player and still “gets Test cricket,” despite their well-known fallout during the 2013–14 Ashes. Pietersen admitted the idea was bold but pointed to Flower’s success on the global T20 circuit as evidence of his evolution. The comments come as the ECB launches a review of the Ashes tour, with head coach Brendon McCullum and senior management facing scrutiny.
