PM Modi Forgives Youth Over Jantar Mantar Abuse, Urges Society to Guide ‘Misguided’ Children

Divya Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said he wanted to forgive the youth who allegedly hurled abusive remarks at him and his late mother during the recent events at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. In a message, Modi said such abusive language should have no place in a civilised society. However, instead of calling for punishment, he appealed to society to guide what he described as “misguided children” and help them learn from their mistakes. The Prime Minister acknowledged that the remarks were painful, particularly because his late mother was also targeted. At the same time, he stressed that young people should be given an opportunity to correct their mistakes and move forward. Modi urged citizens to embrace and guide the youngsters rather than subject them to prolonged punishment or social humiliation. He also called on the youth to learn from their mistakes and contribute positively to the country. The Prime Minister’s appeal comes amid ongoing debate surrounding the conduct of protests and the role of young people in public demonstrations.
