16 Delhi Metro Stations Closed Following Security Concerns After Jantar Mantar Protest Clashes

Divya Delhi : Security arrangements were intensified in the national capital after clashes during a protest near Jantar Mantar, following which the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) temporarily closed entry and exit gates at 16 metro stations as a precautionary measure. The affected metro stations included Udyog Bhawan, Lok Kalyan Marg, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Janpath, Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Moti Bagh, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Race Course, Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi and ITO Metro Stations. The closures were carried out on the advice of security agencies to maintain law and order and control the movement of large crowds in sensitive areas. Metro train services continued to operate, but passengers faced restrictions while entering or exiting these stations. Commuters were advised to use nearby alternative stations and check updates before travelling.
